Food, travel, and entertaining have always been part of my life. My work in food began just out of university, catering in New Canaan, Connecticut. That grew into years of private cooking, teaching, and bringing people together around a table. What stayed with me was how personal good hospitality can feel: the colors, textures, flavors, and small details that tell someone they’ve been thought of.
Working as a private chef in family homes and with sailing teams taught me how personal hospitality can be—and the trust and discretion that come with being part of someone’s private life.
Alongside that life in food, I spent nearly two decades in commercial real estate development, working at the intersection of design, hospitality, operations, and experience. One of my strengths was taking something complex and making it feel coherent and intentional: protecting the idea, solving the details, and shaping the moments people actually remember.
That same instinct runs through The Medjool. The complexity stays behind the scenes; what guests feel is care.
When I came to the Coachella Valley, I saw an opportunity in the first few minutes of a stay. Extraordinary homes, thoughtful hosts, and a moment at the table that could make the welcome feel complete. The Medjool brings those worlds together: beautiful food, made by hand, and the pleasure of making someone feel expected.
